? >> if the president had a mandate, nancy pelosi would be the speaker of the house. >> the same question i put to gene sperling. how confident are you as these first face-to-face negotiations began, there will be a deal that you and your colleagues can support? >> very confident. there is an opportunity the president has to lead the country in a way that he wanted to back in 2008. there is a benefit to limited government. the president did not have it in 2009 when there was an expectation. listen, this move forward with the agenda. now, there is a restraining influence. i think there is an obscenity for both of these men, the state senate, their dispositions to come up with a remedy to get it done. >> would be better if it was just the two of them? >> are you stringing me out? >> well, they both have temperaments that can get to yes and that is a good thing in leaders. >> thank you for joining us. >> great, thank you. one of the players in these negotiations. thank you for that republican perspective. free range. nancy pelosi impose free range hens from exum re- -- in the captors in the building is remember. that california agenda violates the commerce clause of the constitution that where interstate commerce is regulate exclusively by congress, not the state. and our founding fathers understood but it needs to be stuck. i did put an amendment on the farm bill called the pike and mimic to protect interstate commerce an amendment which prohibits the states from regulating the means of production of our act product but there's a list that exists in the code. so that takes the states like california and arizona and florida out of the business of telling us, and iowa, how we're going to raise hands and produce eggs and how we're going to raise cattle and raise hogs. that's an important piece that as many fight in this campaign to go to have a lot of play in the press but that something was got to hold in the farm bill and that's another reason i want to get it to conference by the end of the year. >> i do hope that the farm bill comes to four, this bill, i hope it's an open robe
